DSG Warranty Coverage
DSG Parts for Diesel Engines
• On-Highway Applications:
DSG New Parts for on-highway use are covered against defects in materials and workmanship under normal usage for 2 years with unlimited mileage. The warranty begins on the date of installation and is valid for up to 3 years from the original purchase date, based on the DSG invoice.
• Off-Highway Applications:
DSG New Parts for off-highway use are covered for 2 years or 7,200 hours of operation (whichever comes first). The warranty begins on the date of installation and is valid for up to 3 years from the original purchase date, based on the DSG invoice.
DSG Parts for Natural Gas or Methane Engines
DSG New Parts for these engines are covered for 2 years with unlimited hours of operation, except for valvetrain parts, which are covered for 1 year. The warranty begins on the installation date and is valid for up to 3 years (2 years for valvetrain parts) from the original purchase date, based on the DSG invoice.
Important Note:
The warranty does not cover products provided as replacements under a prior warranty or provided at no charge. The original warranty period applies to these products.
DSG Responsibility
In the event of a warrantable claim, DSG will either provide the necessary parts or reimburse the distributor at their cost for parts required to resolve the failure, including progressive damage directly caused by the failed part. This is contingent on meeting all DSG claim procedures. Any repairs involving parts not supplied by DSG must be approved in advance.
Maintenance Items
DSG will reimburse distributors for costs related to maintenance items such as oil, antifreeze, and filters, provided they are not reusable and are directly related to the repair of a warrantable failure. Approval must be obtained in advance from DSG.
Labor
DSG will cover labor costs at a rate of up to $50 per hour, based on published flat rates or DSG’s flat rate time. Overtime or holiday rates are not covered unless pre-approved.
Exclusions and Limitations
DSG is not responsible for the following:
• Downtime, towing, or diagnostic costs
• Dynamometer testing fees
• Travel, overtime, hotel, or meal expenses
• Service truck mileage or equipment usage
• Rental of replacement vehicles or equipment
• Transportation of the engine or vehicle to and from the repair site
• Consequential or business-related losses due to failure
Owner Responsibilities
Owners are required to maintain and operate their engines in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines. Claims must be submitted through the original DSG distributor, following all claim procedures, including returning parts and documentation. All shipping charges are the responsibility of the end-user or distributor.
Warranty Claim Procedures
1. Initiation: The end-user must contact the DSG distributor where the parts were purchased to initiate a claim.
2. Distributor Notification: The distributor must notify DSG upon receipt of a claim to receive further instructions.
3. Documentation: The distributor must complete and submit the DSG Warranty Request Form and return the failed parts to DSG unless instructed otherwise. Claims must be submitted within 30 days of the failure.
4. ECM Report: If equipped, an engine control module (ECM) report is required with the warranty claim submission.
5. Part Return: Parts associated with the failure must be returned to DSG Technical Support for evaluation.
DSG will communicate its decision through the distributor. If a claim is denied, parts will be held for 60 days before disposal, unless the distributor requests their return at their own expense.
Additional Notes
This warranty applies exclusively to parts sold under the DSG brand. Improper assembly, abuse, neglect, or failure to perform regular maintenance will void the warranty. DSG assumes no responsibility for incidental or consequential damages.
Tampering or altering DSG or original engine manufacturer parts to affect performance or emissions voids the warranty.
